How to search for Clippings

Yankee Clipper X provides comprehensive search engine, which allows searching for clippings based on their location, contents, case sensitivity etc.

Click on  toolbar icon or click Edit->Find or hit Ctrl + F to open Search window.

 

NOTE:

For protection, Yankee Clipper X doesn’t search in BoilerPlate collections that are encrypted.

 

In ‘Text To Find’ area type the text to be searched for. Specify where Yankee Clipper X should search for text within each clipping by click on “Search in Contents” or “Search In Description”

 

NOTE:

Descriptions of clippings can be changed therefore the real contents might be different the description. The description contains maximum first 50 characters of textual clippings.

 

In “Where” area, on right hand side of the Search window, specify in what types of collections Yankee Clipper X should search.

 

Click “Search” button to start search. If any clippings were found, they would be listed in bottom portion of the window. For each found clipping three pieces of information are presented; Description, Collection Type, Collection Name.

 

Description would contain clippings description, Collection type would specify whether the clipping was found in History, BoilerPlate, ActivePaste, AutoFilter or YCRecycle collection, and Collection Name would be specific name of collection in which it was found.

 

To view contents of found clippings click on desired clipping and click on Go To button located on the bottom of the form or simple double click on the clipping.

 

NOTE:
In order to browse through all found clippings and see their contents, select first clipping and click on Go To button or simply double click on it to show its contents and then keep pressing F3 to view next clipping in list of found clippings or Shift + F3 to see previous clipping in the list.
